Every year Music Connection Magazine compiles the “Hot 100 Unsigned Artists” and Kyler made the 2007 list! She’s in good company along with some talented LA friends: Adrianne and Gabriel Mann. See who else made the list HERE.

A “greatest hit”-like compilation of Kyler’s songs was released in Japan in 2006 by S2S/Major Chord Records. It includes a super cool fold-out with all her lyrics in Japanese! We just found out Kyler’s Japanese release sold over 1500 copies in the second half of 2006! Awaiting 2007 sales figures…we’ve got our fingers crossed she’ll be moving from Semi to *Almost* Famous in Japan!

Without a Billboard-sponsored assignment on the calendar for the second consecutive week, I made arrangements to check out Kyler England and Alissa Moreno on a Saturday night. Having listened to both artists’ music through their MySpace pages, iTunes, personal sites, and demos provided to me, I was already a big fan of both. While Kyler and Alissa were different in style, neither was likely to start waving bandanas and krumping all over the stage to get me hyped. I went into tonight’s show needing a bit of a boost, especially after inadvertently falling asleep on the beach earlier in the day, successfully sponging UV rays out of the atmosphere and earning myself a tan Hellboy would have been jealous of. Thankfully, by the end of the night, I would witness one of my favorite shows I have attended in 23 years of life. (more…)
